Collection Info Leak
Date: Sun, 05/03/2009 - 07:45
Debt colloectors have allot of simple but stern rules they need to follow by. A few to list is.....
1. To say the Mini Miranda, which is, " This is an attempt to collect a debt, any information will be used to do so. This call may be recorded for quality assurance purposes." If they DON"T say this you can call them out on it, report them to the FCC and they get fined $1000, the cost of your debt, the infraction put on thier record, and so does it happen to the collector calling you.
2. After saying this they have to verify who they are talking to by verifying your address or last 4 digits of your ssn. If you are stubborn and dont want to verify they will not tell you anything of thier purpose of calling you. Its a simple yes or no question, answer it.
Allot of things I notice reading these forums is there is allot of ppl that have a debt complaining about people calling them to get it. This post is not for the ppl that get calls that dont know who the person is whom they are calling for. Before every call i had to check the credit report and backround for your most recent address, phone numbers, cell numbers, job contacts, and family I could contact to get a hold of the debor. Which is all sold to the company by other companys like the place you work for, pizza delivery, banks, cell phone companys, land lords, insurance companys, and so on. Yes everyone sells your information to collectors and websites like Accurint(dot)com. Its sick to know but you have nowhere to run when you owe money.
Now you and i both can admit as grown ups that this country wouldnt be where it is if people would just pay thier god damn debts. All the time i got people on the phone that swears its not them who i am calling but i ran the backround and reversed the address and it came up everytime that the person is there or was there. That means you know who or where this person is if not you. Then i call them back in the two days and tell them that I know he/she has been there, is there, or is you. Then I swear almost everytime about 80% of it i got the answer of "I'm sorry my mom just died i wasnt thinking." These people made me sick to know that all these companys that are dying is because of a person that can be resonsible to pay thier bills. Now i realize that misfourtunes come upon people and people get laid off or thier mom dies. I worked GMAC accounts so I got laid off because they went bankrupt. I worked with allot of people that actually had real reasons when i got through to them why they owe the money. I worked with people that owed student loans and those debors are the idiots of all debors. In most forums i saw them complaining about someone calling them about money owed and they didnt wanna hear it and want it to stop because they dont have money.
REALITY CHECK!!!!!!!
IF YOU OWE MONEY COLLECTORS ARE GONNA CALL YOU FOR IT!
THERE IS NO WAY TO STOP THEM BY COMPLAINING TO THE FCC. THE FCC WILL LOOK YOU UP AND PUT IT ON YOUR RECORD FOR FALSIFYING A CLAIM. DEBTOR THAT CRYED WOLF?
Now i am sorry if i offended anyone and this was not directed to people that have genuine problems like they wont stop calling you and you actually have no idea who this person is. Write a letter to the company, if they wont give you and address or fax number GOOGLE THEM! If they dont comply send a new letter to the FCC with a postdated copy of your letter to the collector. That will fry the collector and put another blemish on the record. If they call you again request a copy of the approved complaint from the FCC and SUE THIER BUTTS. Pain and suffering gets you a million thses days.
PM me or contact me any other way but this forum if you need info on anything else. If i answer here i will get into allot of trouble cause i signed a statement saying if i leak any info and they find out i can be sued.

Checking the accuracy of the number is BS. I have had my curren
Checking the accuracy of the number is BS. I have had my current number (unlisted) for almost seven years and about every 4-5 months I start getting calls for a lady who I have never heard of. I explain this to the person and they say that they will remove the number and the next day the EXACT SAME person will call back asking for the lady again.
CA's are lazy and don't verify anything they just harrass until THEY get tired and then sell the debt off and the process starts over.
No your wrong. I went by what I found on reverse address lookups
No your wrong. I went by what I found on reverse address lookups on whitepages(dot)com, Accurint(dot)com, and credit checks through a company that was never named to us. Your info is verified through calls and such. Everytime you buy a pizza from dominoes your info that you gave them to buy, send, and who to send to is sold to creditors. Your name on the debit card matches the address and name you say to put on the order. Then you give them your phone number just in case they cant find your home. CA's are lazy but the collectors are not. i spent 8 hours a day finding people so other collectors can collect on the account.

I agree I had about 3 different people calling me over and over asking for someone I had never heard of..they act like you are lying if you say you do not know the person or have neverheard of them and are very rude when you do not have whatever information they are seeking..they are freakin vultures when they act like this!

We have had the same phone number for 25 plus years, and every so often I get a call they are looking for someone that I never heard of. So, yeah its BS about the phone number business. The collectors are not always right like they think they are.
