Americredit update

Some of you may remember me talking about letting our car go back. After agonizing about this for quite some time we decided to let the car go. Then the fuel pump went out and we could not afford to fix the car let alone make the payments. I put the car under storage insurance with a big deductible. Then we had a storm come through here that broke the back window out of the car. I can not afford to replace the window either. The hits just keep coming! My husband called Americredit and was honest with them and he told them about the damage. He also told them we could no longer afford the car. He told them that we wanted to voluntarily have the car repoed. They were suppose to send us a paper to sign but we never received anything. A week goes by and finally they called us and wanted to know the address of the car. They said they would let us know when the car would be picked up. Yesterday morning a guy called me and said he would pick the car up in the afternoon. I said thats fine. He asked me if the keys were in it and I said yes. According to my neighbor she said they showed up here, took pictures of the car, even hooked it up to a tow truck, made a phone call and then un hooked the car and left without the car! I am so confused! Any advice will be appreciated. Thank you!
