United Legal Services Sent Me To Jail

I was contacted at work by a man who said he was with the Internet Fraud Division of United Legal Services. He referenced an old pay day loan I had defaulted on years ago. He told me I was being charged with fraud and if I didn't send $550 by 3 PM, I would be picked up at my work place and taken to jail.

Later that afternoon, I was summoned to the front lobby. When I got there, to my surprise, 2 police officers handcuffed me, read me my rights, and said I was being arrested for theft by fraud. Bail was $5,000 and I couldn't afford it, so I had to stay in jail. While I was there, a couple of awful guys did some bad things to me that still gives me nightmares.

I ended up being sentenced to 60 days, and I still have to repay what is now $2,800 after penalties and fees. I just got out of jail and now I don't have a job and will soon be homeless.

Please, do not ignore such matters like I did.
