The ACM group has been harassing me at work for a dept that was settled in a court of law 5 years ago (in my favor). It is my understanding that it is illegal for a collection agency to call a persons place of employment. Can you confirm this for me?

Correct. My questions are though, were they the CA that was a party to the settlement from 5 years ago? If not, I'd be willing to bet the original CA has sold it off and it has ended up with the ACM group. Can you give us a little more information regarding this settlement?

Also, what state do you live in? This debt might even fall under the SOL. If so, they can in no way sue you for this debt, no mater what they threaten you with.

Getting back to your original question though, all you have to do is send the CA a letter advising you don't want them calling you at work. You can send it certified mail/return receipt requested. Once they sign for this letter, they can no longer contact you at work. If they do, you can sue for violations of the fdcpa.
