I just recieved a call from someone too. with a threatening tone. Told me to call this number 877-801-4914. To respond to charges and a claim and if I did not respond that I would be get a "failure to appear" in the County this claim/charges are in? He was also asking me my address and was calling me on my cell phone with my employer. What the heck is this?

well it sounds like a bottomfeeder.btw nobody can bring charges or a lawsuit anywhere but your county, village, town,or bourrough.i would file a police report as whoever called broke the law and threatened you illegaly.btw nothing came up on a search for that number.file the police report, and ignore them.

It is a collection tactic. An official process server would not contact you before he served you. If you are worried about charges against you go to your court network site, mine here in Oklahoma is OSCN.net. If there are any charges they will be listed there. Also charges have to go through the D.A. And if they are trying to serve you with papers then a suit has been filed which will also be located on the court sight. If it worries, call your local DA's office they will be more than happy to tell you if there are any charges and what you would need to do to resolve them. If they are calling you at home and/or work then they have two address for you and do not need to verify your address.

I got the same call. After going back and forth with him I felt intimidated I gave him my debit card number. After putting two and two together and some research I realized I made a bad mistake. The next morning I reported my card stolen and checked my credit report thoroughly to see what was on there. The asshole said I owed check n go but it was nowhere on there. I saved the first vm. Made sure there was nuthin post dated on my account and put freezes on my reports. Couldve avoided all this if I didn't let him scare me with court. I did a full research. It's bs. Don't make the mistake I did. Hopefully I did enough to protect myself.

I received the same call, 3/24/11, from a Nancy Morgan, who called me on my cell phone & at work. She stated that she had papers in her office that were to be served and wanted to verify my home and work address. This Morgan person asked for me by my maiden-married name. I have no financial obligations in that name. She had a threatening tone in her voice and stated that I should call this number, 888-206-6894 with claim # 100311. When asked what firm was she representing she stated she could not give me that information and when I call that number they would tell me. I called the number and some foreigner answered and put me on hold for over 20 minutes. I hung up. Then in about 2 or 3 days I got another phone call from Nancy Morgan stating that I must not have made the phone call and that if I wanted to keep this from going to court to make that phone call and this would be my last chance before the case went to court. I informed this Morgan person that I had filed Bankruptcy and my lawyer advised me to give her his telephone number and Morgan stated she did not need that number and would be serving me papers. I stated do whatever you have to do, Morgan stated "Good luck in court". On 4/9/11, I heard a knock on my home front door. I looked out of the peep whole and saw a woman that I did not recognize. She knocked on the door as if she was the police. I looked to see if she had any papers with her and saw none, so I did not open my door. I have not heard from anyone since then. What is this all about.

I got the same thing just now. A stern woman named "Lilly Conte" (that is phonetic, I'm not sure if it's the correct spelling of her last name) said she was calling to verify my address so she could serve papers to me because a claim had been filed and I need to appear in Court. She said she couldn't tell me what it was about because the papers were in a sealed envelope. She said I could call 1-877-816-1376 and give them a claim # for my file and they would explain it. She couldn't even say who that was, just "southwest" was supposedly all that was written on the envelope. Then, instead of going on to verify my address, she told me to call them, that I had been "officially notified", and she hung up. Mind you, she called from a private number with her caller ID blocked. Big chicken, like I'm going to believe that's legit. Whatever.

Wow!! There is no telling how many people are being harassed by these idiots! Same here… I got my calls on Tuesday. First call was to my cell....from a private number. "This is Arthur Stevens. I'm with a private locating firm regarding case #blablah. I've been ordered to summons you regarding a fraudulent check and suspicious activities to your checking account either on your home or work number. This is your last chance. You need to contact 888-2618309 listed as ADR/EDR firm (not sure what he said). This is your last chance. Mrs. ____ you have been notified." and hung up. Mind you, this sounds like i just got summoned over the phone. I was like WTH!! He didn't even identify the name of his company! Second call was to my job. This is where he messed up. Left the same voicemail but this time he either forgot to block the call, or my job rejects blocked calls. The number he called me from was 716-748-6057 in (NY). Again this is the person who summoned me. He said his name Arthur Stevens again. I politely replied with a blocked call later in the evening. No answer, but a voicemail to Richard Green with TCG & Associates. I did ALOT of investigating the next day for TCG (Transit Capitol Group & Associates) and ADR/EDR. TCG is a collections agency and has a website with no address or phone number. Only contact info is an email address. Oh, but they let you know they are hiring more scumbags. ADR firm is an attorney's office/debt collection agency. I called the number I was given for ADR firm and this 888 number was for TCG & Associates! This guy just pretended to work for a lawyer’s office and used ADR Firm to intimidate me?!? So I talk to a lady at TCG and she says you owe blahblah on a pay day loan. Do you have a credit card to pay? I'm going to need a lot more info on you before I pop out the plastic sweetie. I asked her name, the company name, location, mailing address, etc,. She said the company was TCG and gave me a PO Box # in NY. I said "so this is Transit Capitol Group & Associates". She said no it's TCG. Oh my goodness!!! Then she put me on hold for like 10 minutes because she was getting her supervisor because I was asking too many questions! Then she hung up on me. I called back and guess who answered????? RICHARD GREEN!!! The man you notified me about a summons!! So the collector called me the day before with this BS pretending to be Arthur Stevens!! I asked him for validation of debt and he refused!! Kept asking over and over if I was recording him and telling me it was illegal to do so. I wasn't recording but had intentions to making him believe I was. He started stuttering when I told him knew he was the one who called about a summons and he denied it. I told him ” that's where you screwed up dumb ass cause I have a recorded voicemail that leads back to your extension”! I asked him to provide me with competent evidence that I have any legal obligation to his agency and he refused! I was too through!! Then he said he didn't have my address!! All I said was ok... as of today I have requested validation of debt which you are refusing to do. Richard Green with TCG & Associates, you have been notified! CLICK!! I am more than willing to pay any debt owed. I work for a (legit) collections agency who provide information required to collect debts. That’s all I was asking for but this just doesn’t seem right. I’m seriously thinking about hiring an attorney because these people are obviously in violation of the FDCPA!

My husband just got a phone call about 2 hours ago while we were away! The lady said her name was Sara Thomas & she had been trying to contact my husband, and could he meet her somewhere to get some court papers. Said she tried to deliver them (we've never heard of her or have any clue what its about)! Said if she does not get in touch with him that she will have to return the court papers & he will get a failure to appear in court along with several other charges that hes already facing! WTF we don't have anything out their but maybe a few hospital bills!
