First call from ADVANTA...kinda rattled me!

Ok took our first call from Advanta this morning at 8:10 a.m. Danny from India. He asked for accts payable on my husband's bus. cc. I said you are talking to her! He asked my name and asked for address. He said can I make you a point of contact and I said please do. I asked him to only use this number (our home number) and ME as the contact on the acct. He asked why we were 5 days late and I said we simply cannot pay anymore. We have asked help from Advant NUMEROUS times and have not been given any. He started to get rude. Asked if we were going to take out BK and I said didn't know. We were looking at all options and at this time are only going to pay essential bills and Advanta was not one of them. He started to get mad. Said if my husband was a smart business man he would bring his bill current or he would never get another bus cc again. I said that was not a concern of ours right now. He gave me some 800 number to national credit counseling. I asked his name and where he was calling from. He said Advanta. I said NO WHERE in the world was he calling from. He said India. I asked in the future to please have some one call me from the United States that spoke my language well. He said Have a nice day and hung up on me. WOW...I have to admit I have been trying to prepare myself for this, I was a little rattled, but I did remain calm and tried not to talk too much. How did I do..what should I have done..said?? Advice.. Oh my gosh..they are calling AGAIN...

Every rep is different, some nice some idiots. You will get used to it after a few months. Just be strong and do not commit to something you cannot do.
