Advanta - I thought that theyhad laid off all their collections staff

I was talking to someone yesterday in the US and Advanta has not laid off their collections staff - now I find that they have onpassed to debt collection company Advanced Call Center Technologies LLC who are threatening to go to court - I am now 120 days overdue and the late charges and overlimit charges keep on adding up. Is anyone else working with Advanta?

Initially, Advanta sent my account to Phillips and Cohen. P&C offered me a $6,700 (~48%) settlement but I couldn't pay that. Now, my account is with Advanced Call Center. I don't think the a/c has been sold because the letter I just received from them states to send payment directly to Advanta. I'm currently about 130 days late. I'm going to contact Advanta to see if they will settle for less than the $6,700. I would think that in light of their recent business decision to cut off all credit card accounts that they would be eager to accept a 40% settlement offer!
