Calling me about an afidavit before she signs off on it

its sounds like those jerks at us national. i would not call them back and try to avoid any communication with them. it screams scam! if she bothers you again, report her!

Its a scam or a bottom feeder CA. I think it's just a scare tactic to get you to call back so they can then harass you and scare you into paying them.

I would keep that voicemail and report it to the FTC ASAP--play it for your state attorney general's office as well. There is only one reason that such an affidavit would be prepared--they are often used in court when you dispute a debt, and the debt collector tries to pass it off as proof that the debt is legit. This may mean that someone is trying to scare you with "we're gonna sue you if you dont pay" tactics.....

So you guys dont think they for real with this.I kinda thought maybe a scam to get me to call her back.I would assume that when an affidavit is filed its sent to you and thats it i would not think they would call you first before they send to you.

you thought eaxctly right.it is just a tactic to get you to call them back so they can threaten.i wouldn't call back.i would do as the guest advises.play that for your AG.

if you were being sued a summons would be served.. sometimes they do call to try to work stuff out before trying to sue but you should really have gotten something in writing first (and if you do make sure to ask for validation!)
