I understand that I have a past due balance. I have no job so it is hard to make payments with money I do not have. Yet I still receive calls from ALLIED INTERSTATE! So tired of this hassle.

What type of debt?

Allied works a lot of accounts including its student loan portfolio on a 3rd party basis. They will not communicate in writing...they will simply return it to the client and the client will then place it with another CA....and so the cycle repeats. Are you screening them or actually talking to them?

Talk to them and tell them you can't pay right now. Set up a specific day of the week and time to check in with them regularly. Have they sent you anything in the mail? If so, how long ago? Have you sent a validation letter? Do not send them a C&D unless you don't owe the money or are prepared to go to court!Speaking of which, a C&D is all or nothing. You can't say don't contact me, but it's OK to contact me by mail.
