They garnished my state income taxes!!

:mad:Allied Interstate garnished my state income tax refund for a debt that I am unsure of where it originates, it may very likely be mine or may not be just the same. However, Allied Interstate does not appear anywhere on my credit report. They have informed me that they will continue to garnish my state income taxes up until they get $7,000.00 from me. Is this legal? What can I do to stop them from garnishing my money? Please help?!
I'm pretty sure the only reason your income tax money can be tak
I'm pretty sure the only reason your income tax money can be taken is for back taxes, student loans or child support.
Allied didnt garnish it...the Department of Education or a FFELP
Allied didnt garnish it...the Department of Education or a FFELP student loan placed the garnishment. Allied is a vendor for both which means the account is assigned to them. They can also garnish your wages without taking you to court.
