I don't owe a past-due debt, nor am I late on any payments. Yet Allied Interstate consistently calls me every day, sometimes multiple times. I have a relative who is in debt and collectors have been after him. Collectors have called me about his debts before, and I'm sure Allied Interstate is doing the same. So far I haven't answered the phone when they call. Am I better off continuing to ignore them, or is there something I can do to get them to quit harrassing me?

If they are calling you, there is probably a reason. If you have nothing to hide, nor any debt, answer the phone and find out what they want. It can hardly be deemed harassment if you are screening them...they are simply doing their job.
AI handles many federal student loans....all of these student loans have references listed and get called. This is a possiblity.
