allied interstate..ca or an attorney?

is allied interstate (columbus) a legal firm or another collection agency? I had an sears cc end up as a charge off..eventually went to lvnv who is on my report too...and now a letter from these guys? the letter says lvnv has authorized them to settle this alleged debt for $XXX yada, yada,yada, Anyone heard of them? Will they sue me?

Allied is a CA.

Send them a debt validation letter. CMRR. 10year old debt(from the date that you last paid on it) might be out of SOL depending on where you live.

Also make sure that they haven't added it to your credit reports

Dispute it in this order with the Cra's 1. Not yours 2 Outs

Dispute it in this order with the Cra's
1. Not yours
2 Outside SOL (if 1 doesn't work)
3 if they still refuse ot remove it and say they validated, ask them to send you proof what they got -this is required by all CRA's that when you dispute an item on your report, if it comes back "verified" you have a right to see what they received.

If it's still not right, hire a lawyer and sue the Collection agency that put it on your CRA's.
