Anybody have any luck negotiating with American Express?
I talked to one of their collections agencies the other day and they were the biggest jerks in the whole world.
I want to work out some kind of long term repayment plan, but I can't seem to get any where with it. She offered me a 60% settlement, but that is still more than I can do. Any help would be great.

i have an amex buss also in collections..no settlement was offer
i have an amex buss also in collections..no settlement was offered from them...i sent amex offering pay infull for pfd=nothing. instead they offered optima card...yippee..that makes me want to pay the debt for another cc..anyway, i have been unsuccessful with any settlement of any type with them..if they are offering a settlement of 60%-i'd run to the bank to pay it! even if i had to do payments...good luck..fyi all of my other creditors easily settled on cc..one $10,500 for $1900..Amex just don't budge much...keep us posted..
