Amex/Trauner Cohen & Thomas... Help!

I need some advice... :)
Every month since November there are hits on my credit report of a "Suit/Judgment" which have never taken place. Here's why:
Stopped paying two Amex bills in Jan '08. I was a victim of fraud by a business associate who I let use Amex cards for business transactions, he started to pay the debt but then split town. He did this to 6 other associates, I came to find out later. He stuck me with over $200k worth of charges that I could not dispute with Amex, because he dragged out paying me little by little until the SOL to dispute with Amex was up.
Contacted a BK atty Jan '08, having no other options. He said not to file BK and to dispute every collection attempt until anything could get validated. I retained him initially and to this day he's there for BK advice but no consumer affairs advice.
Starting in Nov '08, I received a hit on my credit reports of an inquiry by a law firm/CA. They contacted the BK atty, asked for a settlement of $50k, he told them to pound sand. They sold the debt to another agency in March. That agency wrote me in April sending a demand letter. I asked for debt validation and heard nothing (sent CMRRR).
10 days ago, I got a phone call from Trauner, Cohen & Thomas. I informed them I had retained a BK atty, and told them to call him. I've heard nothing via phone since. 2 days later and dated the same date as our phone conversation, I received a letter from TCT stating that they represent CACH LLC, in reference to an original account with Amex. It also states that "no atty with our firm has personally reviewed the particular circumstances of your account," and that, "if they do not hear from me, the account will be returned to their client for further disposition."
Considering they've contacted my BK atty who told them that I have retained him to file BK, should I still send a debt validation letter? If so, how do I structure the validation letter?
I need to get the "Suit/Judgment" postings off of my credit reports, as there are no suits or judgments and haven't been any. The debt is just charged off as bad, but nothing legal has been brought against me ever. It's Amex who notes these postings on my credit. Who/how do I contact the 3 agencies to remove these postings?
Lastly, does anyone have any recommendations of a consumer atty who I can contact in California, or any other recommendation of an atty that I can contact for help in fighting this stuff or for further legal advice? The atty's I've contacted in the past have been no help going after my associate, helping with credit rebuilding, etc. as they see no $$$ in it for them.
Any help is GREATLY appreciated! :)
