Apothekar & Assoc.

Last October (2010) Apothekar & Assoc. garnished my bank account for a $1000 debt. I did receive the court summons but did not reply in time (my fault). The original debt was incurred in PA but they served me in NJ (where I had moved). The money they took ($126) was all from unemployment wages so after I sent them copies of my UC checks -- on the advice of the courts -- they put all the money back in my account. Since them I have contacted them via fax -- not phone -- and have heard nothing. I've been using a green dot card but want to open a new bank account since I (finally) have a job now
My questions:
1)How do they find the new bank I'm using and
2) do they have to serve me with additional papers to garnish this new account
Once I get on my feet I'm going to work out something to pay off this debt but don't want to get into another hassle with them.
Hope you can help -- thanks

They simply send copies of the garnishment order to all banks an
They simply send copies of the garnishment order to all banks and credit unions to banks in your area until they get a bite. And no, they are not going to send you additional paperwork.
