Does anybody have any ideas about how to deal with them? I live in Holbrook Arizona. A couple of years ago I was renting a place in Detroit. During my stay, my lease got canceled because the property went into foreclosure. I moved out as soon as I got a notice. When I moved out the landlord did not say anything and I paid him the last month's rent even though it had only been a week into the month.

Now almost 3 years later I started getting calls from this lady named Linda who is claiming that I owe $3800 on account of the apartment which I left. When I ask her what I am being billed for, she says that she has no idea about any detail other than the amount to be collected. I asked her for the contact information of the original creditor but she refused saying they are not allowed to divulge private information.

What am I supposed to do in this situation? They call 5-9 times daily and even a couple of times a week at work. This is getting severely frustrating. Is there any place I can complain about them?

demand details in writing.that is your right.tell this woman you will not speak to her again until you get it.when,or if she sends a letter,or bill send a DV(debt validation)letter or a C&D letter.send either cerified mail return receipt.btw did you receive anything on the forclosure?bottomline your former landlord is a maggot that got foreclosed.that is not your problem.do not talk to this person again until you recieve details.

You can lodge complaint with the Federal Trade Commission or at the State's Attorney General's Office, if you think that they're bothering you unnecessarily.
