I'm also working with CCCA for my pdls, and they referred me to Hess Kennedy, so I guess they don't use the same law firm each time they take on a new client.
You can either close the account and then advise the pdl companies of your situation, or notify them before you do anything with the account. I opted to close the account first before notifying them because I was afraid some of the pdl companies would try to debit the account right away. I guess I wasn't far off, because a few of them are still attempting to debit it even though they've had a few failed attempts and been told the account is closed.
It might be worth contacting the debt settlement company after they receive your initial payment to find out if they've started making contact with any of your pdl companies. I have started getting bombarded with emails from my pdls trying to offer repayment arrangements as well as threats to turn the loans over to collections, attornies, report them to the credit bureaus, etc. So I am wondering if Hess Kennedy have even started working on my accounts at all.

Well, I got home from work today and found out Cash Transfer Centers had sent an e-mail titled "Early Stage Payroll Letter" to my HR dept. at work. It was to verify info like my SS#, job title, etc. I sent them today a letter to revoke any wage assignment and have notified my payroll dept. as well. Hopefully, all will be well. In addition, being from Kansas, the maximum loan amount is $500 and CTC loaned me $800 on about three occasions.

CTC called me again today at work and I was told I need to clear my outstanding balance or it would be turned over to the legal dept. I told them I have joined a debt consolidation program and was told CTC does not work with consolidation or settlement programs. Is that true?
They don't have to accept consolidation or settlement programs.
They don't have to accept consolidation or settlement programs. Ask them what happens when you are sent to the "legal department", I bet you they will tell you that you'll be charged with wire fraud, passing bad checks, and other stupid threats that hold no merit and are illegal.

Bible,
You are all set. They will not be able to get any money from a wage assignment now. Did you notify your payroll dept in writing? It's not always necessary..Some payroll depts will just take your verbal request, but documentation can cover your butt in the long run...I require written requests for EVERYTHING at work. Covers my tail too, as well as the employees.
