A person threatened arrest warrant at my job

Don't worry they can't come and arrest you for this...I to received the same phone call a little over a month ago and they called me again yesterday. This site has been so helpful in regards to the situation and just so you know we are not the only ones being harrassed...Did he happen to mention what company he was calling from. What these people are doing is completely illegal. Next time he calls tell him you can't have calls at work and that your calls at work are being recorded.

I didn't get any information from him, and when I look on line for Payday Advance, I can't find a company by that name...and I olny dealt with cash advances that I found on line

Alot of times PDLs go by more than one name...., they might be affiliated with a certain website. Sometimes a company will have one name on their documents or emails and the transaction on your bank statement will say something else.

Please check with your state laws to see if such a threat is considered an illegal action. They can't throw you in debtor's prison.

Those actions are violations of the fdcpa.

I have been threatend with an arrest warrant b/c I did not return a rental car to the location. I have told them where the car is, its half way across the country, safe, at an airport, they are threatening with an arrest warrant. is it legal for them to do this? what can I do? I live in SC.
