I had a call (a recorded message)from Arrow financial at my place of employment after hours (7:30pm).The call went to the switchboard and the night answering machine pick up. They left a message stating that they were from Arrow Financial and this call was for (me) and they are trying to collect a debt. Of course the operator is the one who got the message first thing in the morning and transferred it to my extension. Is this legal for them to do? I saved the message and also sent it to my cell phone to keep.

If they call you and you talk to them, let them know that you have saved their illegal message (it violates the FDCPA) and that they are not to call your place of employment again.

Have they called your home? Since that would be considered 1st contact, they need to send you a letter, called a dunning letter, telling you who the original creditor is and how you can go about disputing the alleged debt.

They have not called my home yet. And, I haven't received any letters or other phone calls since that message. It has been about a week, so I will give it time. :) I am sure i will be hearing something......;)
