Hello everyone. I am in need of some serious guidance. Please go potty and get some coffee, this is sort of long. So please let me explain my issues:
Pulled my credit report this July. Found all types of lovely collections. Disputed my issues, got my results and then started sending letters to the collectors and here is where I run into some issues.
1 collector has until tomorrow to respond. It???s from ARMS in Illinois (where I live) and they just popped up on my credit report. They state it is a debt from a balance due from a daycare center. Funny thing is my kids still go to this center, I owe nothing, I spoke to the director and I understand why this collector hasn???t responded??????.HE HAS NO PROOF and I know for a fact I owe nothing. So my question is this:
When his 30 days are up I will send him a letter stating he missed the time frame to validate this debt and it needs to be removed ASAP. If he does not remove this trade line from my credit report what do I do? It was reported to all three credit agencies. I never received anything from this company.
Next comes my battle with my favorite collector of all, Asset Acceptance. They have 2 accounts, one for Cap1 and one for Bally. I sent them a validation letter and received a response with a letter that states my name, address, amount due, and last four of my ss number???..and that???s it. I asked for proof not a document I can type my self. So my question is what step should I take now? Should I send them another letter requesting validation? But there is one small issue with the Bally account they say I owe.
When I disputed this collection with the credit reporting agencies all but one deleted this inquiry. Transunion removed it but not even a week later Portfolio Recovery picked it up. I sent Portfolio a validation letter and I???m waiting. So my question is this:
How can asset say I owe them now when it states on my transunion report that Portfolio has it.
Good holy heck batman I need some solid advice here.

Apart from certain states there is actually no time limit for validating a debt by the CAs. And as long as the collection agency ceases all collection activities, it can take its time in validating it.
I think your step should be disputing the accounts with all the credit bureaus. The CBs will probe into the matter and eventually delete the disputed items if the CAs can't provide with necessary information.
