I sent a validation request to Asset Acceptance. I got a letter back that they were requesting validation from original creditor. What I then got was a paper they claim was from original creditor that had my name, SS#, address, and total due that was it!!! Nothing else. They claim that is all "by law and fdcpa" they are required to do for validation.I live in NC and would like to know if there are specific rules, laws or something I can refer to that states what they sent is not enough validation of the debt? What should I do now?

you re-send your DV letter.include a new part that states that what they gave is not validation.that you are demanding proper validation.send the letters certified mail return receipt.just like the first time.

anything from the original creditor with your signature.that plus any license they have to collect.

no licensing, okay.however from what the OP posted asset basically sent them a bill on there letter.correct me,but doesn't there have to be something from the OC.even if it's just a letterhead.
