Has anyone heard of this person and what company he works for? I have been receiving calls from him and I would like to know what company he is calling from since he never states that. I would be willing to make payment arrangements but is tone is so mean and aggressive.

Harvey Leibowitz is a Director at Asta Funding (Palisades Collection). It won't be him actually calling you, but is most likely a collector with Palisades using the name in a script.

Palisades is a bottom feeder - one of the worst of the worst, an affiliated company is allied interstate so don't be surprised if you hear from them next.

Enter Asta Funding, Palisades, or Allied Interstate in the search bar at the top of the page and you can find out all you care to know about these scum.

If you check your credit reports, you will probably find that they have already reported something derogatory for you. You can use the address provided on your credit report to send them a DV (pick up a sample on this site as well).

Thanks for your help. I have received a letter from Leading Edge Recovery Solutions regarding my HSBC credit card. Should I contact Leading Edge to arrange payments or should I send a dv letter first. I am not denying that I owe this money but want to make sure that my payments are going to the correct company.

First send the dv letter to make sure that the company has your legit info. Once you know for sure that the info given by the company is not disputed, put your payment proposals. You can also deal directly with HSBC if they have your file in their system. Then, you won't have to deal with the CA.

If I got a call yesterday from Harvey Lebibowitz (or someone from his office) asking for me to call them and then received another one today saying I had to call them back today. I have read that I need to send in a letter to validate the debt but should I call them back today and let them know what I'm doing or should I just send the letter. It said he was with the office of NES, I'm not sure what that is. Any help would be great.

you could answer the phone and ask for an address to mail a debt validation letter. Whatever you do do NOT answer any questions, and do not admit to owing the debt. They should have already mailed you a dunning letter which would have the address on it Personally I would wait until you get that.

I've dealt with Harvery Lebowitz through that company. Don't believe a word he says. If he's talking, he's lying. I set up a pay off amount and that thief revoked after he received my lump payment. Lesson learned to myself, get it in writing BEFORE sending the payment. He had told me he faxed the confirmation of the agreement to my office and when I got in the next morning, he hadn't. When I called to find out what was the deal he basically said he didn't know what I was talking about. Don't do business with this lying scumbag. Ask for a manager, this guy is bad news. And he sounds mean on the messages because he IS a nasty man.
