Payments made to Junk Debt Collectors

I was harrassed by a junk debt collector and starting making monthly payments and when I demanded a balance, they hung up on me. They later called me and said I had not made a payment in three years. I offered to fax proof of my payments but again they hung up on me. Now it has passed to Zakheim Assoc another junk debt dealer. What should I do?

You should have done the same with the previous collector as well. But, anyway, its not late yet. Don't make the same mistake as you have previously.

I agree, send them a request for VOD. I recommend getting everything in writing, whether it be for a settlement, a payment plan, what have you... and get receipts/confirmation #'s for each payment.
