A collection agency has won judgment against me recently. But I'm unemployed right now. But I have $500 in my bank account. This is the only money I have. Will the CA take this $500 from me?

No, your wages can't be garnished if you've lost job. The reason for the employment won't have any effect.

Yes, I agree with Good Nelly. Your wages can't be garnished if you are currently unemployed. You can take the help of a charitable debt relief company to pay off your debts.

Creditors can levy your bank account down to the last penny. But they can't garnish your unemployment benefits or the SSI benefits.

NO, but you are still liable to repay all the debts. Try to repay your debts as soon as possible to avoid further hassles.
