Verify debt after 30 days

I have a question about this debt that is in my mother's name. My brother got his cellphone disconnected by the cellphone company and it was in my mother's name. She has been getting calls from a company called BCR. They refuse to leave a mailing address for me to send to them and hang up on me whenever I ask them for it.
I was thinking about sending a letter asking for verification but I think that it has been past 30 days since they first contacted us. Is it still worth it for her to send a letter asking for verification?
If not, then what steps should I take to settle this debt. I want it removed from her credit report if possible, so I don't just want to pay it off without that. Also, should I be dealing with them or is it better to deal with the original creditor directly?

If you have never been contacted via mail in the form of a dunning letter then your 30 days hasn't even started. The CA was required to send you their initial dunning letter w/in 5 days of first phone contact that verified the identity of the consumer. Next time they call answer, verify that you are the consumer in question, verify your mailing address and inform them they now have 5 days to send you details of the debt. End the call. If they call again before the letter is recived, don't answer but log the call.
While you're waiting, I would read a copy of the fdcpa and FCRA, read the stickies in each of the forum and start learning your rights. Research DV's and if you have not done so already, pull all 3 of your free credit reports at www.annualcreditreport.com
You should be better able to understand the process by the time you send out your DV.
