I might have asked this before, so please excuse if so. I sent a debt verification beginning of Feb. I know for a fact that there is no signed agreement, as I have the original, unsigned. There are many discrepancies on this account, making it difficult for them to verify anything as the original creditor made a complete mess of things. So far, I have gotten zip, and nothing is on my credit report. Should I send another request, or let it go? I am thinking the orignal creditor realizes that they were grasping at straws becuase they had messed up my account from the beginning 4 years ago. I just hate to resend and stir up the hornets nest. If for some bizarre reason they wanted to sue, I have all that paperwork and my original verification (sent certified w/ret)...would that be enough? Just wondering what you think. :D

Your credit file should not get tarnished because of some disputed information posted by any company. As long as you have a strong defense to show in the court (in case it reaches that far), there is nothing to worry about.

You have done all the correspondence with the original creditor, not with the collection company. Make sure that you send the dispute letter notifying the latest, so that you have a proof to show in the court about your dealing with the CA.
