Problem with my Credit card debt
Date: Tue, 08/25/2009 - 13:57
I have a Bank of America (FIA Card Services) debt. It was past due for 6 months so they assigned this to Creditors Interchange and they have called me for that. Unknowingly may be because of law suit fear I started paying money for these guys and I made 2 payments as of date. Meanwhile I inquired with BOA about CI and they said BOA still owns the debt but CI is legally eligible to collect the debt. My main concern now is
1. Should I request a validation letter from CI now? I want to have everything in written, though I know they are eligible
2. I am not even getting a confirmation receipt of my payment. How do I ensure I get this.
3. Is there a way that I can settle the debt (May be pay them some % of the amount and get the whole thing done) legally and remove this whole mess from my credit report.

Do not pay them anything and yes send them a DV letter. Did they
Do not pay them anything and yes send them a DV letter. Did they send you a dunning letter, they give you 30 days to dispute the debt. If you are trying to settle, then wait until you have a written agreement before you send them any money.
