Received a phone call from CAC on 11/14; I returned their call on 11/15. The woman told me I owe them $1197; I said oh that's nice, how about sending me verification that I owe you this debt? I gave her my mailing address - they "didn't have it" - and told her I would not make any arrangements until I had proof I owed this debt. She kept saying, "Well, we're sending you a letter but what are you going to do about paying this?" I told her again, when I have proof, I'll contact you and pay it.

Today, I receive a letter from them dated 11/21 (does FDCPA specify 5 days or 5 business days?). They have called several times since then; I have let it go to voice mail. The letter states the alleged original debtor, the $1197 amount, a "file number" and then a date and a time in December that I am "requested to call at the time indicated above to settle the debt to *original creditor." I think it's amusing that the time indicated gives no time zone, so do I call at 2 PM my time or their time?

Is this a DV letter? What are my next steps? TIA!
