About five months ago, I recieved a phone called stating that they were calling from a collection agency and they said they are attempting to collect $300 plus dollars for an alleged debt. I told them I had no idea what they were talking about and I asked them for proof of the alleged debt. They never.

Two more times, I get the phones from supposedly different agencies. Then on 5/6/11, I got a phone call from Delanor Kemper stating that he has this file on his desk and if I don't pay this debt, I would be charged with check fraud. I demanded that I have the information on this alleged debt. I paid over $600 to clear the debt.

Yesterday, on 6/7/11, I received another phone call from supposedly another collection agency from a 404 area code before 8 in the morning. I was told that they could call any time they want. I told them I paid it on 5/6/11 to Delanor Kemper. I was told that it was never received and I had to send them the money within 48 hours or I would be charged with fraud. They also told me that they would file charges in San Diego County, California where they claim I live in San Diego County which is not true.

I contacted my bank and they have put a fraud alert on this claim. This alleged loan was almost four years ago and they didn't try to contact me until the end of last year and supposedly it is from five different companies with the same area code.

Hi!
Welcome to the Forums!

You should make a written request to them to validate the debt. Under FDCPA laws, the collection agencies can't call you before 8am. So, you can file a report against them to FTC. They are also not allowed to threat you. Don't succumb to their false threats. Also check the Sol period on the debt in your state.
