California Statute of Limitations

I'm trying to ascertain when the clock begins to run on the statute of limitations for a written contract in California. The link in the sticky states four years from the date of breach. Would that be from the date of the first missed payment?

Thank you Soaplady. I thought so. Now to get nitpicky. I have three accounts that had due dates of 6/28/2009 and that was the first missed payment on all three accounts. Would they have had to file yesterday or could they file today and still be within the statute of limitations? I keep checking my local superior courts website and there aren't any suits filed thus far. I'm really keeping my fingers crossed.
