I live in Ontario. In the past I had my wages garnished from a PDL company. I paid them in full as off end of 2008. They are now coming back to me with documentation (another garnish request from the courts) stating I owe them for POST judgement interest charges - Can they do this? I already paid them over 400.00 in interest charges. What confuses me is the front desk clerk I spoke to at the court house said she believed they were entitled to do this.

Why on earth didn't they mention this in the first proceeding? Is this legal? Can they do this? The want another $700.00 from me which is insane! I have already paid $1100 on a $650.00 loan to them.

I hope someone has some positive remarks for me as I am still in shock that they can do this!

Usually when a judgement it obtains it is for X amount of dollars. Interest continues to accrue so when a garnishment is put in place it goes by the amount on that particular date. They cannot calculate in future interest.

You should be checking with the court where the garnishment was issued. Canadian law is similar to US law but you will need to check your laws.
