I have just had a bill collector from Customer Services Inc. tell me the only way to pay off debt is through ACH. Can I just ignore that and pay by money order? I have no desire to have these idiots in my checking account. Help?

I would definitely NOT give them your bank account number. Someone else may have experience with this to give you further advice, but I think I've read many posts that say to just be persistent. Refuse to give them your bank account information and insist that they accept a money order.

Last time I checked, money, no matter what form it's in, doesn't spoil. If they can't wait a few extra days to get a money order mailed then don't deal with them. Is this debt still owned by Cap1? If so, contact Cap1 and ask for the hardship department. Don't stop trying, you might have to climb the food chain until you find someone to talk to you. If you find yourself with no choice but to pay the CA, go get a pre-paid Visa or AMEX card with the amount of the payment on it and give them that number.
