I have 8 credit cards, two are under my ex boyfriends name, that have not been paid and i have been getting letters from debt collectors and capitol one just sent me a summons today, i have two checking accounts that are negative and need to be paid off, and I owe the the state univeristy money. I don't know where to begin or what to do can anyone tell me the first step?

If you have co-signed the credit card application with your boyfriend then you are also responsible for the debt and the creditor can sue you to recover the debt.
Now, as far as your other debts are concerned, if you are not able to repay it, you can register with a debt settlement company who will negotiate with your creditors on your behalf and settle the debt for less.
