Hi, First i would like to say this site is awesome.

Ok.

So here is what is happening. I totally forgot i had this credit card. Its Late payments and debt owed is ?$2461.46

MRS Assoicates has been calling me about the Debt. They said if i dont take care of it now, that they will sue me, since the account is PRE-legal stages.
(i told him i will call capital one directly. So i call capital one, and they transfer me to MRS. While on the Phone with the transfered Call, I gave MRS my Credit Card # for $300 payment sept 9, and $50 per month After.
Done Deal.

NOW this "john afami" from OH Office(the one that originally called me, still is calling me and saying that i did not Do it. He keeps saying that " you were transfered to india, and they were not spose to handle this account". I am hesitant to give them my credit info because they called me, and i dont have caller ID, and i already gave it to the MRS from capital one Transfer.

Also Capital one won't even talk to me, they just transfer or direct me to MRS

Right now im scared

1. they said " this account is pre-legal" and If i do not take care of it, They will Sue ME.

What should i do?

Sorry for all the Grammer, and Spelling mistakes. I'm Very Scared and am clueless to what i should do.

Unfortunately, you should always get something in writing before you make any payments to a collector, and mainly because of this very thing. It happens far too often. Sometimes they even act like they are negotiating a settlement, and the debtor pays the settlement, and then the collector sells the remainder to a junk debt buyer who then comes after you months later, after you thought everything was squared away.

At least Capital One transferred you to MRS, so you know it is legit. This other person calling is trying to scam you, it seems. Just remind him - you were transferred by *Capital One* itself, so he can go pound sand. He's just mad because someone else (and not him) will get the commission check. Oh well, his loss!
