If you go to court for a credit card balance can they take away your house? I live in New York and I have been told they can put a lien on it but not take it. Anyone know if this is true and where could I find info on this? Thanks for all of your support.

If they go to court and get a judgment,then a lien can be placed on property if state law allows it.Due to first secured mortgage priority and homeowner exemptions,I am unaware of any unsecured creditor being able to force a sell off of property.
