I had a car repossessed. The finance company got a judgement against me and took my state tax refund. Can they also take my federal refund toward this debt?

how did they get your state tax refund? Did they garnish your bank account? From what I just read, non governmental creditors cannot seize your tax returns. Once in your bank account, it is fair game, but they cannot lien at the source.
