Can a CA collect on a debt from cash advance network, because cash advance is affliated with MTE Financial Services. I had taken a loan with these people awhile back and honestly forgot about it when I didn't ever get a call back or any sort of correspondence from themn after I had offered my settlement payment plan. They aren't licensed ANYWHERE, but the CA ,(it Accounts Receivable Management of Florida) that is trying to collect for them is licensed. My thing is this, since Cash Advance Network is operating illegally either way you look at it one by not being licensed and two having been ordered by the state of OK to stop giving and collecting on loans. I asked for debt valadation from the CA and all they sent me was a copy of the electronic agreement. So do I owe, should I make payments, or what should I do? ANYONE care to be brave and tackle this one for me? I sure would appreciate it very much.

Yes, in most cases, these cash advance places will hire a collection agency that is licensed in your state and recover the debts. MTE is prohibited to do business in OK so they want to fire keeping the guns in the shoulder of some CA that is a licensed business. This is a scary tactics.

How much have you paid on the loan with MTE? I will only pay the principal amount because they are not allowed to do business in your state. And it will be illegal for them to charge interests and fees from you. You may have to pay the legal collection fees if you are paying to the CA

I'm wondering if this CA is actually Bass and Associates. Since you mentioned they are located in Florida. And have you filed your complaints with the Attorney General's office yet? If not, do so. Do not back down and payback more than you legally owe to a business that is operating illegally.

It's not Bass, I think they call themselves Account Receivable Management of Florida. Before that they were United Legal Corporation. Think that's what I'm going to do, just offer them the 210.00 and tell them I can't afford to pay more that 25.00 a month. It may take a little longer to pay it off, but that's the only way I'll be able to do it.

Scooby, This is what I have learned about Cash Advance they are sort of a referall service for payday loans. Thats where you are getting the connection with MTE Financial. The Attorney Generals in several states are going after these people also. They are making them provide names of the people that were referred and also fineing them. Hope this helps a little.
