CBHV is giving me a hard time about submitting bill to BCBS. Needs to be there by July 23 to meet 6th month timely filing status. They now have my insurance info, the dr has my insurance info. How can I insure that they do not delay bill being submitted therefore making me responsible for entire amount? (It was my misunderstanding-I assumed physician had the insurance info as it was provided at emergency room) CBHV Collections Agency claims 30 days is not enough time as there are "hundreds of people ahead of me", they need to get bill from dr ,they need to have BCBS call them to say claim will not be denied due to being untimely) What does Collection Agency stand to gain if they do not submit bill to BCBS before July 23, 2009?

Welcome to the Community :D I don't quite understand some of what you are talking about. The collection company(CBHV) is trying to collect on a doctor bill, right? If they are, they should have an account history from the doctor about you, I would think.

When I have had medical go to collections, they have all the info, amount, etc., that is owed. I don't understand why you cannot give the insurance info to the doctor directly and have them file--I have also done this with one doctor and for some lab work. I also didn't think that the collection agency was responsible for filing with BC/BS since they aren't the person providing service.

I would just go to the docotrs ofice and see if you can talk in person with someone from the billing or insurance department--good luck to you. And if I completely misunderstood, forgive me!..karen
