How did you receive a judgement without receiving a summons to appear in court? Call the clerk for the county court and see if you have been sued. If not send the lawyer a Debt Validation letter. If you were sued and were not served you can appeal to set aside the judgement for inproper service.

The SOL is 5 years in your state. As the SOL has expired, so the collection agency has no right to take any legal action against you. Once the SOL period is over, you are not legally bound to payoff the debt.

not to be mean but Sally I have read alot of your posts and your advice is not right in a lot of posts of yours, you leave out a LOT of info that they need. First the OP needs to go to the court that issued the judgement and find out how they were served. Then they need to petition the court to have the judgement overturned on improper service and THEN if they try to sue again they then have to bring up the issue of its out of SOL. Saying anything about that now once the judgement is already in place will do nothing for them what so ever. And yes in Florida the SOL is 5 years for credit cards to be able to be sued for it.
