Creditors contacting me at work

Today, they called me at work. I have no idea how they got the #. I have moved to a new office with a new # that I haven't put on any applications. How do I stop them from calling me at work?

Ladybug - for the OC, only state laws can limit their collection efforts. Some states are good about that, some aren't. I know in Illinois, they can't do things like threaten arrest or call so much that it constitutes harassment -- but there's no law in IL that makes them stop calling your job just because you request them not to.

Unfair/Deceptive trade practices usually applies to all & most states have laws on the books. You would have to read up on your state laws & perhaps inform them that your employer does not permit personal calls. To stop them calling there,you will have to at least speak to them at home.
