DV letter - stupid question
Date: Fri, 03/07/2008 - 04:16
I'm trying to deal with MRS associates on behalf of my wife, who's in no condition to deal with these scum herself. I'm trying to put together a DV/CD letter to send them, but I still have no idea [from them] of what they may be trying to collect on, or how much. No account number, OC, or anything else at all.
Two questions here: One, how best to identify the issue in the letter, in the absence of any account number, etc? And two, to sign the letter, or just close it with her name, printed. Help, please!
Thanks -
Wulf

Hey Wulf!
How did you find out about this CA, was in on her credit report or did she receive a letter/call?

We've been getting calls for some time now from these 'folks'. They won't give me any info at all, and they just asked her if she'd ever heard of whatever CC company [forget just now which one...] Best of our knowledge, she never had an account with that CC co. There's nothing on her TU about it as of 12/07, and DAL would have been no more recent than about 06/00 [if it's even hers]. We've had absolutely nothing in writing at all. Any ideas?
Sorry for brevity, but I gotta go back to work.

I had a Ca for a Hospital do that to me once. I found out much later it was for a bill that had been paid off some 10 years ago.
I wrote them a letter telling them to C&D and also a DV letter--never heard from them again.
I also put in the DV letter to tell me who the debt was with and an account number..karen
Send a C&D letter to them to limit communication in writing only
Send a C&D letter to them to limit communication in writing only. That will force them into either a lawsuit or most likely sending the initial dunning letter.
