Central Credit Services - Do consumers get harassed by this company?
Date: Thu, 06/12/2008 - 16:27
Today I got a call from Chase. I called them back and was told that Central Credit Services collection agency had my account. The lady at Chase told me that I needed to make payments through them and that if I made them to Chase the payment would be held until the end of July and then sent to the CA. (doesn't make sense to me). Anyway she asked if I had tried debt management. I told we had but had not been able to keep up with payments and broke the plan 1 year ago. I had previously been told Chase would not reinstate for 5 years. She encouraged me to talk to the company I worked with before and have a new proposal submitted. She would ask for a special review of the account and have it reconsidered though could guarantee nothing. I thus talked to the consumer counselling agency and they are going to send out new proposals after payment July 2.
So called Benjamin and told him. He called me back - told me Chase should not have even talked to me that their company has all legal rights to my debt. When I told him I wanted to at least pursue this until accepted or denied, he got nasty - told me I wasted his time - and account would be sent out for lawsuit. I'm almost to the point where I want to say - bring on the judge - at least he'll work out a fair plan cause there are no assets to take. Anyway am sending a validation letter though I'm not really disputing the debt and them will wait out Chase and the dmp.
Has anyone known of Chase to waive their 5 year rule?

I literally just got off the phone with this JACKASS, and needless to say I am drafting a letter to his company Central Credit Services, Inc. PO Box 15118, Jacksonville, FL 32239-5118 to report his well mannered conversation. Regardless of the situation that has lead a person to be in a position to continue to pay their debts is irrelevant to the conduct of one Robert Hesselmeyer. He has absolutely no right to use threats of any kind or to even speak to you in an oppressive manner per the Fair Debt Collections Act. (Debtors are not allowed to Engage in harassing, oppressive or abusive conduct. http://www.fair-debt-collection.com/) I am sure most people in this situation have every intention of repaying their debts but THEY ARE PROBABLY UNEMPLOYED LIKE HALF THE NATION!!!!!!! These debt collectors are rude and unprofessional and have no right to continue to belittle people who are already in probably the worst time of their lives. Government needs to step in and help the debtor to not feel like a felon because of a collectively bad situation nationwide. I will document my most recent conversation and send it to this horrible company and mail a second copy to myself, we as consumers have rights as well and to be verbally abused after asking someone to refrain from such behavior is UNACCEPTABLE! I encourage everyone who is honest and in a bad situation of their own to document such behavior for themselves. Best of luck to everyone.

At the very least if this is not possibly work with that collector is a respectful manner after all they are trying to help you out of your debt situation...Remember it not the collector that went spend crazy with the credit card it was you the debtor    |

The Best Counter Measure For Dealing With This Company and any O
Recently a completely erroneous debt I spent months fighting was sold to Central Credit Services. After using this board and others like it I was able to assertain just enough information about CCS to make their debt collectors uneasy when they spoke to me. The first and most important thing to do is either have some form of recording device available to record your conversations or at least to allow the collector to believe that you do have such a device in use. Most cell phones can be used to record phone conversations. Once you get one of these leeches on the phone let them know that per your states law you must make them aware that you are recording the conversation. You must then ask the sleezeball if they fully understand that they are being recorded. This will usually cause them to hang up or at least to be seriously cautious with their tone and comments with you. If they stay on the line you will see that they will make no threats nor will they say anything that could in any way be seem as intimidating. What you should do is repeat whatever it is they are saying to you as a question. For example if they say "We are attempting to collect a debt for our client". Your answer should be "So, wait let me get this straight, you are collecting a debt for your client? Is your client actually (whoever the debt was originally with)? Because in all likelyhood your debt was bought by their company and is no longer the debt of the original debtor, they will have to stop and think about their answer to you. By questioning them you immediately take them out of their normal routine. They feed on the worries and fears of those they call. They do not want anyone who will turn the tables on them. These are little people who make very little money doing what they do. The last thing they want is confrontation with a strong person when they know they can get off the phone with you and call someone else that might respond better to their intimidation. If they hang up on you, even better. Call them back. Ask for whoever it was you just spoke to. If they do get back on the line with you (unlikely), again tell them they are being recorded and ask them why they felt the need to hang up on you when all you are thrying to do is settle this very simple matter. When you put them at ease, go at them again with the questions. Trust me they will hang up on you again. If you have the time, keep calling back and keep applying the pressure to them. As long as you make no threats yourself you are more then welcome to be as aggressive with them as they would be with you. I had a worm named Ed Stone from CCS squirming all morning today. He started by trying to intimidate me. Once he couldn't he hung up on me. When I called back he sent me over and over again to voicemail. I left him long messages, chiding him for not being man enough to deal with me and saying what a good laugh I would get telling people that I must be the only person a debt collector is afraid to talk to. Every so often he had a very obnoxious sounding woman named Dana take the call and tell me that Ed didn't want to talk to me. I proceeded to tear her down until she hung up me. I told her that she must be bigger than Ed because he is hiding behind he. I told her that I didn't want to talk to Ed's secretarty when Ed was obviously not that important a person himself. She hung up on me multiple times. In the end, after 10 or so calls Ed finally did get back on the phone with me and after realizing he was completely tied up and couldn't use any of his tricks, he told me that he was releasing my file back to his client (in English that means he was giving up) and that after midnight tonight I would receive no more phone calls from his company. I repeated it back to him so that he would have to say it again for my recording. I did not rectify the debt this way but I made sure that slime like CCS couldn't intimidate me into paying something I did not really owe. They will just start calling me again soon under another name and once again I will make them understand that I am willing to work with them under my rules not theirs. Do not be afraid of these people. They are nothing. They cannot hurt you, take your possessions or put you in jail. All they can do is every few months report to a credit agency that there is still an outstanding debt on your account. To be honest with you, I have read some of your comments and it seems a lot of you are either out of work or are broke or both so not having good credit right now should not matter. I mean, if your credit was good, what you do without having any money??
Help - I need letter from Central Credit showing my debt was pai
After receiving numerous rude calls from Central Credit (a Mr. Drake Brown) - he called my neighbours etc, he told me that if I paid supposedly $2000, I, would received a letter in 30 days that shows this seven years debt has been cleared in my credit report. I went ahead and paid. It is now almost 3 months and I have not received the letter. Everytime I call, Drake either hangs up or come up with stupid excuse - letter will be out today. I spoke to manager twice and same excuse. Yes, I need the letter. Should I go ahead and sue CC so that I can get this letter showing that I paid them everything? If yes, how do I go about it, just call attorney? I recorded phone calls from Drake as well as kept copies of fax I received from them. Please advice as I need this letter. Yes, I live in the District of Columbia and recorded all my messages with CC.

These clowns have been calling me ever since I got my current phone number -- six years ago -- and asking for someone I've never even heard of. I occassionally answer the phone and tell them that. Then, sometimes the calls stop for a few weeks. But they always start right up again. Wish I knew how to get them to stop.

Credit Card Services
Just received my first call from ccs requesting a call back. I think it is for a credit card my daughter has with Chase. She lost her job and now has no means to pay it back. What is the statue of limitations? What can I do to stop them from calling (besides paying the money)? Is there any service out there that can help?

The SOL depends on the state your daughter resides in. The only way to stop the calls is to send a cease & desist letter, BUT that could get her sued. HOWEVER you have the right to send a C&D askign them to stop calling you since you are not the debtor.

CCS contacted me about an old car lease that I "owe" money on...so I took the letter they faxed me to the dealership and had them contact their leasing office with the same information. Guess what? The people who gave me my lease were clueless as to what I would owe them for! Hmm.. sketchy! I will not be paying a dime!

Did you get the agreement in writing? I hope you also DVed them before you sent that payment. I have found that any agreement made over the phone simply magically vanishes afterward like it was never there.....poof.
