I received a summons from an attorney and I have 20 days to respond. This is my question I have tried to satisfy this debt with sending the attorney (3) certified letters for DV which they did, but then I asked for proof that they were assigned or authorized to collect this debt which they would not send. I then tried to pay the PDL and they say they cannot accept payment because it is with their attorney. So in my answer is this what I tell the courts???

Check with the court and make sure that:
1. this is a real summons, that there really a suit filed
2. what date the suit was filed
If the they filed after they received the DV letters then they are in violation of the law and you can use that in your response to the court.

Did you send the letters with a return receipt (the green card)? If not, do you have the cerified receipts with the number on them? You can go to USPS.com and enter the number in the tracking screen and get delivery info on them.
This is the proof of violation.
