Now today in the mail, I got a letter from Plaza associates giving me an opportunity to reinstate my account. it says to make 3 payments of $102.56, and I will get a new card with a credit limit equal to my total payments. They said upon doing this, they will report the account as open with my credit reports.
What is up with this? Should I take them up on this offer or what? I would like to pay this but I only get $300 a month from disability right now so maby if I call them and work something out it sounds like a good deal. They said the offer is on until the original creditor says to stop authorizing.
It probably was charged off. But they haven't reported since 10
It probably was charged off. But they haven't reported since 10/2006 and 150 was the status the last time they reported.
It's possible they charged off your account and then never reported the account again. It's also possible that the month they charged you off, their report to the bureaus got botched and they didn't get to report your chargeoff. If that happened, that would be why it shows you 150 days past-due as of 10/06.
I'm not sure about the offer; I really can't tell you whether to trust them or not.
If you want to fix your bureau, you can dispute it as inaccurate. But then they might just update it as a chargeoff.
all 3 credit reports say Creditor's Statement:Account closed at
all 3 credit reports say Creditor's Statement:Account closed at credit grantor's request.
Also plaza still has the 30 day disclosure in the letter if I want to dispute it, I am wondering if I should.

Always DV regardless. Collection efforts must cease then until validation is provided. But, validation per the fdcpa is minimal. Name, address of original creditor and an amount.
I would dispute the Macy's TL with all 3 CRA's as "multiple inaccuracies" but beware - if Macy's verifies, the update will show recent activity on the account and could cause a drop in scores.
