One of our accounts has been "charged off" and now handled by a collection agency (OMNI). Made a payment less than 120 days ago....however not full minimum due, but still a payment. Account now with a collection agency. Technically, we can still make a payment online to the "original" company. Is it best to make a payment to the "original" company or deal with OMNI (they want to settle for only a few hundred $ less) than what is owed. Any advice welcomed!

Inform the creditor about your action before making the payment. They should have no problems in accepting your money since the file is still in their system.

I wonder your account should not have been marked "charged off" since there was a payment activity in less than 120 days. It's a derogatory remark that you should not allow to be reported in your credit report. Any inaccurate negative item will hurt your credit scores severely.
