Got a letter from them about my past due chase account.I am waiting them out for a settlement and i am probably aout 110 days past due of 9900 according to this letter.I have not talked to chase at all since i became late.At the bottom of the letter it says mail payment to chase bank usa and gives address.I assume i can still deal directly with chase because it says mail payment to them, correct?I am hoping to have enough cash to attempt to settle within a couple of weeks and would strongly prefer to deal directly with chase.Anyway should i call chase now and try to work out a settlement or wait couple of weeks?

Yes, Chase still has control of the account, they've just outsourced collection attempts to a third party. It would be a different story if you got a notice from a debt buyer, as they would then own the account, but Chase still owns the account, therefore, regardless of whose possession it is currently in, you should be able to deal directly with Chase, as they are the original creditor. This letter shouldn't put any rush on when you should contact them, that's a call left up to your best judgment based on your current situation and abilities.
