Chase - need advice ASAP

Hi - just got off phone with Chase. Owe approx 18,000 - 4,000 of it is interest since I stopped paying/using it. a few months ago. They hard lined me that the lowest mnthly they would take is $350 and wouldn't lower my balance due at all. But they did go to 6% interest. I agreed but then they wanted access to my checking acct to take the $ out. And I said "no". They got really mad. I still said no and they said "no deal". Anyone have any advice? Do you think they'll still be willing to negotiate later? I threatened them with my possible filing for bankruptcy.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Thanks Bman - in my case they DID say that as soon as I gave them access to my checking account they would validate the agreement - no paperwork. They were just hot to get into my check book. I told them - I have NO idea what my available balance will be when they decide to go in so I couldn't allow it. (I'm self employed - maybe that is the difference?)
