Regardless of cosigning, if you have a joint bank account with someone who is garnished expect to have the account levied. I've heard of filing to the court stating that all the money in the account Belongs to the joint holder (prove w/ statements and corresponding DD forms) but in most cases they can just suck the account dry; that's why when you get that 30 day notice you better get your joint holder's money Out of your account.
