Does anybody know whose number is 904-425-9141 the woman can't even speak plain english asking me or my attorney to call.

I did a quick Google search that was very illuminating!

The number you provided caught my interest because the area code is in Jacksonville, FL; where I live. I found some information on whocallsme.com and 800notes.com.

Well, actually both of those websites seemed to have the exact same posts on them.

Apparently, this is a collection agency operating under the name "CNA." One name provided on the post I read also referred to them as "Christian Nicholas and Associates." One post I read also alleged they are part of that "U S National Bank" scam that we've talked about on here so much.

It was unanimous in everything I read, though, that they pretty much violate the law (The FDCPA) on every phone call. So do not let them intimidate you when you call them back, and if you are able to, record your phone calls with them.

Check your state's law regarding recording phone calls.

Just stick to your guns and request their contact information, like mailing address, and tell them you want written verification of this alleged debt and the proof they are legally entitled to collect on it. Do not fall for any of their "you're going to jail" type threats and if the phone call starts deteriorating towards that level then tell them you are hanging up and do so. Then, if they ever gave you their mailing address, send them a debt validation letter STAT; you may also inform them in that letter they are not to contact any third parties regarding you without your written permission.

Long story short, be careful when you communicate with them. Never, ever, ever, ever, give them any of your banking information until they validate that debt in writing! No matter how badly they threaten you! My opinion is, they will drain your bank account dry and still hound you for more.

have been informed this company is attempting to collect on behalf of Cashland/CashAmerica/Cashnet USA. We are one entity, and I assure you that we are not affiliated nor authorizing this company to collect on our behalf. If they state they are calling on behalf of ANY company, call THAT COMPANY to pay (if you truly owe). More importantly if they state they are calling on behalf of Cashland/CashAmerica, call your local Cashland/Cash America store front, or CashnetUSA if they claim they are representing them.

Call from phone number 919-912-7991. Some guy saying he's calling from "CNA" located at 2201 North Hogan Street in Jacksonville, Florida. Says that he is going to have me arrested... Sounds like the same guys that my local police called and told them to stop harassing me unless they were going to mail me something with proof...

I have bank statements as to the fact that I have been scammed. Back in March of 2009, I paid them $560.00 for cashnet. They never sent me a document. Then I get a threatening call two weeks ago, sayiing Im going to jail, and they are gonna get me fired. I owe them $800.00. I have been scammed. Now they don't answer their phone. I faxed over my bank statements showing them that I paid off this loan back in March. Today, 7.20.09 they took $110. out of my visa account without my permission, so I put a block on my credit card, What can I do? They won't answer their phones anymore. Just takin my money. Paying the same loan again. Ms. Hanna

I too have been scammed by this company. Last year I paid them $620 because they were harassing me so intently at work. They NEVER sent me anything in writing to justify that original debt, nor did they send me anything in writing, AS THEY PROMISED TO DO, to show that I satisfied a debt with that payment. Then about six months later they started up again. This time I insisted that they give me a street address, and I registered mailed them letters demanding that they cease and desist from calling me at work, and that they send me written confirmation that I actually owed a debt. They then started calling me from different phone numbers with different names. Each time I demanded a street address, and since they had grown wise, they refused to give it to me. I engaged in several shouting matches with them, and eventually it slowed down, then it finally stopped. They were represensting themselves as attorneys, so I asked them for their State Bar numbers. They gave me phony State Bar numbers. I actually contacted one attorney and reported that they were using his number. Another number they used was for a deceased attorney. Very bad. I filed numerous complaints with the FTC, to no avail. We are without advocates here, I fear.

I realize that the FTC receives hundreds and hundreds (if not thousands) of complaints on a daily basis, but it is beyond me that they can't at least acknowledge your complaint. Have you also filed a complaint with your Attorney General's office? One of the things I noted in my complaint when filing was, I asked for an acknowledgment, I don't know if that was the reason I received one, or if it's standard practice (automatic emails) BUT, I also received a letter from them via the mail, so.
