I just settled my Chase account through GC Services, the same CA assigned to collect on my Citi debt ($20K). I will not have the funds to settle with Citi for at least 4-5 months. My question is: should I ignore calls from GC for awhile, or talk to them right away and explain the situation?

I would call them, just to let them know of your situation. This has happened to me, and much as I HATE to call I do. It seems that they prefer to hear from you than you ignore them. I've been told my many to ignore them, but I feel it just makes it worse. But from my experience, although they want their money they'll listen.

If you want to settle, then I would talk to them. You never know, in four months, you may have a completely different collector to deal with. If you ignore them, you may find yourself being sued, and have a judgement to deal with, and it is a lot harder to settle then.
